Gage was given a black bear by my brother Hayes & his family for his second Christmas. Since then black bear has been a permanent fixture in Gage's crib and now his big boy bed.
I decided after sniffing black bear that he needed to be washed and so I broke the news to Gage and his response, "no he fine". This morning I decided it was my chance to wash black bear, Gage had snuck into our bed during the middle of the night & was still sleeping with Jesse. I put him in the washer on the gentle cycle and wished him good luck as I shut the washer door. He was sopping wet once the cycle was over so I proceeded to start him on a low spin cycle, halfway through I opted for the medium spin. He survived the wash, now on to drying. Air only was the route I was planning to go, but did small short times on low heat. So far so good. I decided to show Gage that his bear got washed, he gave him a big hug and sniff. He declared that he smelled good, but bear still had some drying to do. Gage diligently stood and watched as his bear spun around and around in the dryer.
Fast forward to 2pm, Gage wakes up from his nap, crying (very typical after nap behavior). Jesse is standing in the hallway, Gage opens his door, runs past his Daddy, then comes running into the kitchen screaming "Mama" runs past me and into the laundry room. He wanted his black bear, he missed nap time! Gage grabbed his bear and proceeded to back track to his room, where he is sleeping soundly with his clean black bear held tightly in his arms.
